Description

Visby Cathedral Parish aims to be a natural and important place for young people, where teaching, relationships, and deepening create belonging, growth, and anchoring in Christian faith and the life of the parish.

We are now looking for someone who wants to help lead this work forward.

Together with educators, you will be part of the parish's children and youth team and collaborate with other priests, deacons, and musicians. You will help establish a cathedral educational team.

Responsibilities

Confirmands and Youth

Lead and develop the confirmation work together with our dedicated confirmation team. Build on relationships after the confirmation period through leadership training, youth evenings, and activities within the Church of Sweden's Youth. Collaborate with the conversation reception TwoRooms.

Church & School

Participate in school work together with our educators. Work to make the cathedral an inspiring learning environment where history, faith, and contemporary issues meet. Offer thematic gatherings and activities in collaboration with schools.

Deepening in the Parish

Hold discussion groups, Bible studies, and provide theological guidance for young people and young adults. Deepen and develop the parish's baptism work. Work closely with music, worship life, and diaconia to create a whole where teaching and deepening are naturally woven into the life of the parish.

Qualifications

You are ordained as a priest in the Church of Sweden and secure in your theological foundation. We are looking for someone who:

easily builds trusting relationships
enjoys collaborating and contributes to a good work environment
has an open, inclusive, and respectful approach
is secure in themselves, unpretentious, and solution-oriented

Application

Your application should include a personal letter, CV, priest certificate, and a certificate according to Chapter 34, Section 10, Subsection 2 of the Church Order (prepared to serve in all tasks together with others ordained to a role within the church's ordained ministry regardless of their gender).

You should also be able to present an extract from the criminal record.
